Wedding planning questions

Can you legally get married in Kenya as a foreign couple?
Yes. Foreign couples can marry in Kenya under a Registrar's certificate or a special licence, or hold a religious ceremony. You will need valid passports, single-status affidavits or divorce or death certificates where relevant, and a notice period at the registrar's office. We prepare the file, book the registrar and coordinate the certified certificate so it is accepted back home.
How much does a safari wedding in Kenya cost?
A two-person bush ceremony with luxury tented accommodation starts around $4,200 all in for the couple, including camp stay, game drives, ceremony production and paperwork support. Beach weddings for up to 40 guests typically run $3,600 for the couple plus $280 to $520 per guest per night depending on the resort.
How many guests can attend a safari wedding?
Bush ceremonies work best from two to twenty guests because camps are small and conservancies limit vehicle numbers. For 30 to 120 guests we recommend Diani Beach, Naivasha or a private Nairobi-adjacent estate, then move the couple into the Mara for the honeymoon.
When is the best time to marry in Kenya?
June to October and January to March are dry, reliable and photogenic. The Maasai Mara is at its most dramatic from July to October during the Great Migration, but book nine to twelve months ahead. April, May and November are green season with lower rates and lush backdrops, with a chance of afternoon showers.
Do you also arrange vow renewals and proposals?
Yes. Vow renewals, surprise proposals with a photographer hidden nearby, anniversary bush dinners and Maasai blessing ceremonies are among our most requested add-ons and can be booked alongside any safari.
How far in advance should we book?
Nine to twelve months for peak-season Maasai Mara or a festive-period beach wedding, and three to six months for green season or a small elopement. We hold provisional camp space while your paperwork and guest list are confirmed.
